Writing Samples
Writing is a critical skill that I have enjoyed developing through different courses and opportunities. Below I have included writing samples from my internships and courses, demonstrating various styles and skills I have acquired.
NEWSLETTER
One of the projects I worked on at my internship in Messiah University's (formally known as Messiah College) Office of Annual Giving was a winter newsletter that was sent out to all of the college's donors. As the project manager, I developed the initial concepts, research and wrote the copy, coordinated headshots and gathered pictures, and led meetings with marketing about the design. Not only did I gain valuable writing skills and become more familiar with AP style, I developed greater professional independence and self-discipline.

MEDIA KIT
Though a public relations writing course, I learned how to produce various promotional pieces for a media kit. For the entirety of the semester, I created fictional promotional pieces for Crayola. Through these projects, I learned how to write concisely and follow strict AP style guidelines. I also learned about various styles of writing and how to write for different audiences.

WEB WRITING
One of the projects in my public relations writing course involved developing various fictional website pages for Crayola. This task allowed me to write for a general audience and work to create cohesive yet engaging content. In addition to providing the text for the various webpages, I was required to format the copy and design elements which required thinking about interface interactivity. This project further expanded my writing abilities while strengthening my editing and AP style skills.

FEATURE STORY
Through both a magazine writing course, I learned how to construct feature stories. This allowed to me become more familiar with a more storytelling focused style while developing a foundation for AP Style. I was also introduced to interviewing and learned how to construct helpful questions to garner enough writing material. Through the process, we were required to pitch our stories and construct rationale for our stories' importance.
